The Colorado Emergency Management Association (CEMA) was created in 1965 under the name of the Colorado Defense Association. Membership consists of individuals and corporations - public and private - interested or involved in emergency management.
|
CEMA's Purpose
- Promote and support coordination among personnel and emergency management organizations in performing their common mission.
- Stimulate public support for a reliable emergency management capability.
- Advise and assist Colorado public officials in the conduct of effective emergency management programs.
- Promote mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities of emergency management through public education programs.
- Keep CEMA members apprised of legislation and regulations which may have an effect on state and local programs.
- Provide a forum for sharing emergency management information and resources, thus elevating professionalism within the Association.
- Integrate resources and managerial talents of public and private sectors into a team effort preparedness and response.
