Benefits the CEMA Scholarship Program

CONFERENCE SILENT AUCTION
 

The silent auction will return to the 2023 EM conference! The auction will showcase unique items from around the state, as well as regional baskets donated through each all-hazard region. We hope that you will consider donating an item or item(s) to the silent auction, a chance to showcase items from a small business, cool agency swag, unique items from your part of the state, or other desirable items. If you can’t donate and item, we hope that you’ll consider generously bidding on the items provided. All money raised from the silent auction goes to the CEMA scholarship fund, which provides scholarships for the CEMA conference.

FAQ's about the Conference Silence Auction:

Q.  What is the CEMA Silence Auction?

A.  The CEMA Silence Auction was developed as a means to allow those whose budgets many not be sufficient for them to attend the conference.  The Auction provides scholarships to cover the conference registration, conference lodging, and if needed, CEMA membership for one year.  100% of the auction proceeds go to the scholarship fund.  The average number of scholarships awarded each year is ten.  Through the Silent Auction, CEMA is also able to provide scholarships to the annual International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) conference.

Q.  Is my donation to the Silent Auction tax deductible?

A.  Contributions or gifts to CEMA, a 501(c)6 entity are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.  They may be deductible as trade or business expenses, please consult your tax professional to find out more.

Q.  Can Sponsors display business information with their donation?

A.  Sponsors and business owners - Your donation may display organization labels, business cards, and other marketing materials.
